Ymer SC AB manages Ymer SC Fund 1 AB and Ymer AC SC AB that closed in March 2018 and January 2020, the first two funds of its kind in Scandinavia. The funds invest predominantly in the junior part of the capital structure of both cash and synthetic securitisations such as CLOs, CDOs, ABS, and reg cap trades. Through its vehicles Ymer aims to capture the complexity and illiquidity premia present in the aforementioned securities by constructing a highly diversified portfolio across asset class and geography. The funds have a 5-year lockup period and frontloaded cashflows positions it well to capture opportunities during volatile periods in the capital markets.
The portfolio management team consists of three professionals with a combined 50 years of experience of trading, structuring, and risk managing structured credit securities and derivatives at Tier 1 institutions. The senior advisors and chairman of the board have long experience from private equity and managing credit portfolios. The fund is a Swedish AIF regulated by Finansinspektionen, uses Wahlstedt Sageryd as an administrator, and SEB as custodian bank.
